Neither did Saban going to the NFL this year or the Dolphins. NS said he was not interested at the time. This is all we need to pump up our rivalry even more, TT on the sidelines at LSU, could you imagine the next couple of games and the hype involved. More spice...... :thumb: Never say Never until he signs the dotted line like NS last year.       my 5000th post btw
Tubby has NOT signed the extension and therefore I think that means there is no $3 mill buyout. Caddy you might correct me if I'm wrong on that.
This is CRAWFISH using PT's computer and I guarantee you Tubs is not coming to LSU. Actually I wish he was. After all he just took the Aubies to an undefeated regular season and was voted the AP Coach of the Year. He also has a winning lifetime record against our beloved (?) St. Nick. And truth be known he had nothing to do with the cigar or logo incidents. That was just the thugs on Auburn's team those years. He really likes LSU. he is a great recruiter (which we badly need right now) and runs a squaeky clean program. I could go on and on but clearly he is the coach we need right now. But alas, we have dug ourselves a hole by badmouthing him, blaming him for things he doesn't deserve, and some of our fans even hollered insults to his wife as she was getting on a bus after a game here in deal old BR. So, I reiterate, TT will not be our next coach. :dis: :dis:
You're wrong. The $3 mil buyout is contained in his current contract, which still has years remaining on it. This new, proposed contract would void that, but the new deal has a (get this) $7.5 million dollar buyout. I've been saying this for two weeks now: LSU will not pay $3 million dollars for anybody, period. Somebody, please, drive a stake through the heart of this b.s.! :dis:
you are correct. Tubs is under a current agreement which would require a buyout of more than $3.2 MM. The proposed contract from Sexton emulates Urban Meyer's at UF and provides for a little more than $1M per year remaining. If ratified, it would be roughly a $7MM buyout, plus legal fees.
I hated Tubby when he was at Ole Miss........ He ran up the score on LSU at the end of a game back in 2000(rudy johnson ran it in with less than 30 seconds to play).......I believe that was his second year at AU and Saban's first at LSU. since then the guy has not pissed too many people off. I like a coach with a little attitude.
According to Buddy Songy, Tuberville told the media he wasn't going anywhere and that it's ... "Good to be a Tiger"
what a response out of Tubby......covering his ass after he takes the LSU gig. "What, I said it's good to be a Tiger?"
