Thank you Tubby for bashing Louth Holtzththth!

Every time Holtzththth speaks on ESPN I have to get up and clean the spit off of my TV.

I think you are a little off on this. In 2003, what you say may have been true. Since the changes in the formula, what the media feeds everyone is VERY important. It takes major differences between the human and computer polls (which was the case this week with Texas-USC) for the computer portion to trump the Human polls. And you will never sell me that the human polls are not influenced by the media like ESPN.

not really. maybe some of the harris poll voters have media jobs. the media influence is in deciding what to show or what not to show, what to talk about and what not to talk about.

i love how they would not break into the lsu-UF game to show highlights of UND scoring on USC or leinhart throwing pics, but the next week they broke in many times to show them scoring on UW

also like how they have this "heisman watch" stat line at the bottom of the screen. like they know all the players who will be selected or should be selected. just cracked me up that they chose to put quinn there. they also put shockley but not croyle.

I think you're right. I did a little reading up on the changes.

While I do not believe in a conspiracy to fix a certain matchup, I do believe the media has an enormous effect on the BCS. There is no way that voters in the Coach's or Harris poll watch all the important games every week. They have to consult the media for information about the teams they vote on.

On topic, way to go Tuberville for saying what needs to be said. Never thought I'd see the day I rally behind Tuberville, but he's the best thing we have right now to lead a revolt over the Poll and Bowl system. PLAY-OFF! PLAY-OFF!

I man can dream can't he...

I say way to go Tubs. Screw ESPN and all their incompetent boobs. Holtz is the biggest joke of all. And before anyone critizes Tubs, they need to remember it was Holtz himself who got fired at Arky for mouthing off and openly supporting Jesse Helms at the time. And how good is Holtz's opinion? Well he didn't think Kenny Irons was any good and was so convinced he gave him his release to sign with another SEC school. Nuff said :hihi:

Holtz and Jimmy Carter need to check into a rehab center and learn how to quietly fade away.
