That's assuming you considered them 1-A to begin with.

Damn shame, wasting perfectly good sporting equipment that way.

Am I the only one who sees this as being a marketing tool? I'm starting to think there never was going to be a "drop" -- it was just a way to get the media to talk about how great Tulane Athletics are and how important they are...

I don't know. I'm the kind of guy who supports all the local teams. I don't hate Tulane at all. I hope they do well.. just not when they play LSU.

Wow, you guys are all nice and friendly. NOT!!

I'm glad for this. Tulane dropping football would have been an absolute travesty for Louisiana sports. I'm certainly hoping they can pull it out and stay 1-A. And, I know I'm in the minority on this board when I say this, but I'm all in favor of bringing back the Tulane/LSU rivalry. The two schools should play every year in every sport, home-and-home. Yes, even for football.

I'm fully prepared for everyone on this board to lambaste me as a bleeding heart traditionalist who's stuck in the past and needs to "get with it", but I don't care. LSU needs a rivalry, and needs to get back in touch with our tradition. Everything from not having a rival to our disgusting new cartoon logo leads me to believe that the current administration is making some bad moves (not a lot but some). We need to correct these things, and that starts by renewing the rivalries with Tulane and Texas A&M.

Flame away if you must, but ya'll know I'm right.
