Shipley, Womack sign FAAs Two 2015 commitments signed financial aid agreements with LSU on Friday. Texas tight end Hanner Shipley and Mississippi offensive tackle Matt Womack used a 1-year-old NCAA policy to ink with the Tigers early. Shipley’s high school principal tweeted a photo of him at a signing ceremony. Womack’s coach did the same. Implemented last year, financial aid agreements allow high school seniors who plan to enroll early to sign with the school starting Aug. 1. Financial aid agreements bind the school to the player and allow coaches from that school to have unlimited communication with that player. Cornerback Ed Paris and quarterback Brandon Harris used them last year. A three-star rated signee from Marble Falls, Texas, Shipley committed to LSU in January over Texas and UCLA. Womack, a three-star prospect from Hernando, Mississippi, chose the Tigers over offers from Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe. They’ll enroll in January.
Was that to get grades in order or some other reason? I can't think of an advantage of holding off if he's eligible to enroll.
