Needs minor editing ... but worthy of a spot in the Advocate ... Dammit, Rabalis ... you lurking sumbitch ... I know you will read this Get off your dead arse and post this boy's Christmas poem ...
Here is the equivelant from the fins page http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?t=59936&page=1 Just to take some tension off the situation -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Dolphin land The fans at fin heaven are stressed out and wringing their hands Hitting the refresh button while sitting in their chair In hopes that Saint Nick will soon be there. Forget about these fans ever going to bed as they read post after post in meaningless threads Anxiety grows as they all want to know If Nick Saban will actually come to the big show When suddenly in a post, what do they see A Chris Mortenson rumor, saying Nick is 60/40 After spending the day, looking at the contract He flies to Miami, possibly to sign the pact Most are excited, others are not They can't figure out why Nick is so hot Jim Bates deserves the job, the players will say Maybe in another time, another place, but not today Wayne wants someone that can turn this around quick He believes that the guy is obviously Saint Nick So he offers him the job, giving him final say Hoping he will accept sometime before Christmas Day Nick ponders the offer and discusses it with his wife This is, after all, a big move in his life. He's torn inside, as this is a tough decision He approaches the issue with marked precision He looks it over, making sure everything is right Before he goes home to sleep on it during the night Hopefully, Nick will announce something tomorrow That won't bring Dolphins fans any sorrow LSU fans are hoping that Nick will stay They don't want him to throw what he has away They won a championship under him last year And because of this, they hold him very dear Does Nick want the job, or does he just like exposure Sleepless Dolphins fans just want some closure This is something they have never had to face After 25 years of Don Shula in this place. The Dolphins believe in Shula, because of what he's done And he believes that Nick Saban is the one That can bring this team back to the top And win a Superbowl before the fans pop What to do is on the mind of Saint Nick If he doesn't accept, fans will think he's a dick I'm cutting this poem short, it's really a sad sight Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Good idea. I wonder how much of Shula Senior's enthusiasm for Nick is motivated by a desire to reduce Shula Junior's competition in the SEC West? I'm sure that Shula Senior has thought of this angle.
