1. Ahh. The blonde haired Golden Boy of USC.

    You are 100% correct.
  2. I was making a larger point, Junior.
  3. right but you still didnt answer the question, daddy-o.
  4. Even before he got hooked on the marijuana cigarettes (reefers), he had the most Twitter followers (by far) than any other active college player ever.
  5. sensation

that is part of Mathieu's problem - he's very self absorbed with this twitter, if he learns that if he stays off it and quit bring attention to himself he might be on a quicker road to recovery and it was obvious he was given multiple chances and just didn't care and now that he is busted, he wants to appear to be doing the right thing - good luck but LSU needs to move on without him

i for one was glad to see him go after he stupidly tweeted that he was the best defensive player in the country and i seem to recall him getting burn bad in the championship game and pouting on the bench

and taunting alabamer with tweets - what an idiot

Miles ought just ban twitter for his players - Mathieu is becoming just another Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson with the out of control addition to attention

  6. yeah but now his messages will be bible scripture. gonna take a hit in popularity quite soon. especially now hes deemed insignificant.

banning twitter is not the way to solve anything. theres always another outlet to use anyhow. you have to deal with the child first. twitter is just a way you see hes an asshole. getting rid of his twitter account wont change that fact.

this is like blaming your annoying kid on his nintendo.
  7. So, it is possible that Steve was not being a hard core judgMENTAL Christian when he indicated that TM7 checking into rehab might be a more serious problem than pot, right?
  8. tirk and I have this running joke about being sanctimonious...it's all in fun, but I'm not being uber judgemental as much as being uber disappointed in Matthieu...because I'm a fan.

Here we are poised to win the national championship during one of the greatest eras of LSU football and Matthieu put himself above the team by doing drugs. Kicking the most exciting defender who's all american at two positions off the team isn't something that anyone should take lightly. I know Miles didn't...but he had to.

Locker rooms during a season this important have an aura about them that is sacred. there's a tangible spirit of unity and discipline that has to be protected. Younger players look up to the team leaders. They want to be like them....hang out with them....be associated with them. And when a team leader like TM7 starts flaunting the rules and living a secret life that the coach doesn't know about, that unity and discipline breaks down. Not only that, the coaches are made fun of because the wool is being pulled over their eyes. They lose credibility when they're played as fools.

That's why Miles had to take the action he did. It's just too important to too many people, primarily the hundred or so athletes on the team. Lastly to the fans.

I don't care if Matthieu was involved with pot alone, pot and alcohol, pot and pills, or any other combination of drugs. He had to go.

I really do feel bad for him mainly because he's such a charismatic person and a dynamic player. I want him to be a success. I also feel bad for him because his draft stock now is zilch compared to what it was before. Just ask Warren Sapp for one. The NFL draft history is full of examples of players that dropped way down in the draft and fell into a teams lap because they tested positive for pot at the combine. Chris Ivory is a case in point. I have never heard of someone sitting out a whole year in rehab and coming back.

I really hope TM7 does. I would love to see that happen....and it can !!

I'm not being sanctimonious or judgmental about this at all. I have an opinion.

  9. If the NFL knew about Rickey Williams' fondness for pot, do you really think he would have been the 5th pick in the draft? Sapp dropped from the best player in the draft to the 12th player taken. Cliff "We smoked it all" Harris went from a probable 2nd round pick to an undrafted free agent. Mike Adams (Ohio State) went from a 1st rounder to a 2nd rounder. Janoris Jenkins went from a 1st rounder to a second rounder.

Its not as detrimental as it used to be, but testing positive for pot always negatively affects draft status.
