Hope you don't have that avatar copyrighted since you have been here {and probably utilized it} a lot longer than me. The answer to the ? is pretty simple...stupidity and not really giving a damn. Didn't know enough about Cecil Collins to comment on his past situation but Perrilloux didn't surprise me (reneged to Texas and lied to Mack Brown 1 week before signing day) and neither did Mathieu surprise me. Mathieu simply hasn't struck me as a team guy, loves the spotlight, and certainly hasn't struck me as a Rhodes scholar. You can only hide lack of character and intelligence so long. Love the integrity of Les Miles...does what he needs to do quietly whether getting rid of coaches, players, etc.
"This is a very difficult day for our team," Miles said. "We lose a quality person, teammate and contributor to the program. However, with that being said, we have a standard that our players are held to and when that standard is not met, there are consequences. "It's hard because we all love Tyrann. We will do what we can as coaches, teammates, and friends to get him on a path where he can have success. We are going to miss him."
Well all I can say in my current job and the last one I did for 26 years he would have been done after the 1st test. Standards are standards for a reason..............I can not stand it when we keep trying to "find" ways to lower the bar for athlete/celebrity behavior. I can tell you now there LOTS of jobs out there that ask the question HAVE YOU EVER..........the answer choices are yes/no, there is not explanation block. In fact, the FAA now requires a pilot to acknowledge ANY alcohol related offenses/accusations.........NOT CONVICTIONS.
Joe Schad at ESPN reported very early that it was a 3rd failed drug test. I don't believe ESPN all the time but I believe them this time...pretty much makes sense considering he was suspended the Auburn game last season for the same issue.
here's a quote from Les from Tuesday's Media Day, and the way I took it, he's saying that one or more of our new freshmen LBs is already showing those TM7-caliber instincts and playmaking ability when lined up in the front 7... On Tyrann Mathieu being a full-time cornerback... "It's always the key - do you have a linebacker who could play even when you.have these young freshmen linebackers that could play that spot a little bit more instinctively and let Tyrann [Mathieu] play corner, or do you move Tyrann [Mathieu] in there where you know the kind of play that he is capable of making and take one of these young corners and put him out there on the edge? One of the ways to go is leave Tyrann [Mathieu] out there at the corner and bring somebody else in. That's really in the works, to find out who that best player is."
That sucks…I don’t get it. You are one season away from being a 1st round draft pick and you can’t put the weed down until then? And don't give me the "he shouldn't have to crap" ... he accepted the rules and he has to play by them. I don't care if they tell them put your right show on before the left or get suspended, a rule is a rule.
