it was actually the bulls organization that fined Thomas, but I thought it was funny. whose to say they didn't take the quote out of context or something anyways. Well I hope Tyrus does put a show on cause i don't wanna see him embarrass himself in front of everyone.

In recalling the Tyrus Thomas interviews, I doubt his comments about the contest were anything vicious. He is a sincere kid. He probably realized he wasn't the show off dunker others are and simply stated the innocent obvious, that he wanted to attend to earn the money. I think the fine was uncalled for.

The fine was very much called for :angryfire

It was disrespectful to the bulls organization and very disrespectful to the legends that went before him in the contest. The money is pocket change to him but at least maybe it will get him to think twice next time.

Yea the dunk contest should be done away with anyway but he should be just tickled pink to be selected and be in the grace of some of those players.

He is a very raw kid with unlimited talent if he can manage to learn from the greats and not the jackasses that run and gun in BB today. He isn't exactly setting the world on fire right now with his stats based on his draft position.

Sorry about the vent but you guys are just sugar coating cause he is an LSU alum. If he came from another school you be tearing him a new one for those stupid comments.

It is amazing how much improvement his English showed in the apology, as compared to his original quote.

I really don't understand why he would say that, considering the payout is small and his salary is huge. The fine from the bulls just got them more bad press. They should have reprimanded him internally.

It does put him in a bad light. When he has a bad day, people are going to wonder if he is just out there collecting a paycheck. A typical rookie mistake.
