I knew Jimmy would come up in the discussion, and while he does split out a lot, he is still a TE when all is said and done. He's just a special TE.

I don't consider Valentine a surprise. LSU has been discussed pretty favorable for months now and many thought it was just a matter of time and with the qualifying issues at Miami. LSU has been doing great consistent work with him.

Understood, but being that he committed and is a possible flip still makes it a "surprise" type of get in my book.

It's great work by the staff for us to be in the position we are in for him. Let's hope we can seal the deal since we really don't have a true DT in this class (Willis is kind of a hybrid unless he plans on packing on about 40 lbs).

Wish that were an option. Can't just "think of heading that way" at this point in my life. Maybe when I'm a bit older I'll have that flexibility.

Wait, you calling me old? Ok, I'm older than old. At my age, "think of heading that way" comes into play all too often.

I'm thinking of heading down to the Rio Grande Valley around Jan. 26th. If anyone wants to make a trip across the border let me know. Looks like a dozen or so of us will be down there

We also have Godchaux who recently weighed in at 290. He will be a DT no doubt at that weight.

He picked up 25 lbs? That's kind of unheard of in high school.

Great news if true. At 6'4"/6'5" he could be another Brockers type. Just big.

Not sure what weight services were using or when the last time he was official weighed but that is being reported as his weigh-in at the Army game. Think he was also measured at 6'3.

Ok good to hear it's actually an official weigh in for the game, and not some unconfirmed hearsay report.

So yeah, he'll play DT, as he should get up to 305 or so after getting with Moffitt.
