Doesn't matter... the casual college football spectator around the country loves scoring... TD equal great rating... Defensive games are boring to most and don't keep the public as enthused. Anyone undefeated regardless, if they are in a BCS conference, should be ranked ahead of 1 loss teams.
What a fark? There's nothing wrong with that (and you don't have to "play Ramah"). Not to say that it's wrong of anyone to shoot for a National Title (that's every team's goal the start of a new season) because you want to honestly feel that your team is good enough...but if we simply HOPE for a shot at a BCS title game all the while concentrating our efforts on what we CAN control (winning the SEC instead of leaving so much of your success in the hands of pollsters or computers--which is what it takes to make the BCS title game), then more people wouldn't be so pissed off even though we're 7th in the country, 5-1, and still control our own faith to be SEC champs and make it back to the Sugar Bowl.
I would be happy with that any year no matter how the season started. Lose 1 reg. season game and get into a BCS bowl.
I called this.. a week too early though... eventually that big *-0 moves you ahead of everyone else, even if you are in a mid-major...
