I agree it's just that not many coaches have made the jump from Kentucky DC to the DC of an NFL team although he does have NFL coaching experience.

No direspect with the attendance. In fact, I find it troubling that LSU fans do not attend the games! Heck, when I am in town during the season, I make an appearance in the PMAC. Just stating that a possible Sweet 16 team does not get the support. Yes, you heard it from me, a SWEET 16 TEAM! Yes, we were wondering why Archer was not chosen to lead the Wildcats. He was very successful with the Steelers. In fact, Bill hated Archer to leave the Steelers. Some word going around, if Archer was patient, he was next in line for DC for the Steelers. The Parcell’s situation is legit; he even mentioned he was going to coach UK until Jerry came calling. It has been in national media press. We need a winner, like I said; whoever is here will have major support and the facilities.
it was also in the press Nick Saban changed his mind multiple times before going to Miami and it wasn't about the money. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
Stop, I about spit up my milk and cookies (seriously). :hihi: I will say this. Parcells said it out of his own mouth. He loves horses, he owns horses, and let’s just say a horse farm ownership was in the works. :thumb: My point was Brooks was not even in the picture. It was Parcells and Chow. Barnhardt really thought he locked up Chow, but before the ink was signed, he backed out…oh no, Barnhardt had to rush in a hire. I think Barnhardt learned his lesson from this hiring process; he probably wanted to wait a year this past season to pull the trigger. I am willing to bet he has already has a committee formed and searching for the right fit. Does that mean Barnhardt will tell Brooks, Muschamp is your new DC? Like it or not Who knows but I hope so!
oh, little nickie said it out his own mouth he was completely happy at LSU and uninterested in pursuing an NFL job. coaches never lie to the idiot public, do they? my point is that everyone likes to believe the best coaches want to go their program (and never leave) and end up believing it regardless if true or not. Im not certain Parcells would never have coached on the college level but I would highly doubt it and I can almost assure you it wouldnt be kentucky regardless what was said. Nick Saban's family is too happy here and he is not going anywhere. Parcells loves horses so he's going to coach in Lexington. Next thing you're gonna say is jimmy johnson was almost hired as his assistant.
Good point Tirk, but I can tell you I know some within the program that confirmed that Parcells was considering the UK job. I do believe he would be happier in the college ranks then in the pros right about now. After all, he is doing anything he can to get canned by Jerry Jones. Don’t forget, Parcells is going through a divorce and needs money in a bad way (according to Dan Patrick on ESPN radio). Did I really thin Parcells was coming, no, but is really cool thinking that he was considering it. My main point is Chow, I wanted him on the sidelines and according to some I know, Barnhardt really wanted him as the leader of the Wildcats. Chow did say yes, flew back to so-Cal, the wife never thought he would be offered. Family voiced concerns about moving away from the west coast (has been confirmed by Chow in recent articles on why he has not been hired to run a program). Chow had a chance, granted, it is not a “sexy” choice (after all basketball is king-if you watched game day (I have been to both UK and several LSU football-I will tell you it is pretty close to the rabid ness and fever)). Now look at Chow he is an OC for the Titans, well look here, he ended up away from the west coast, it just happen to be south of Lexington 3 hours away! Trust me; Like in LSU in basketball, fans are craving a winner. We always turn out and support the team for some stupid reason. Trust me, I still continue to renew my season tickets hoping one day I would be able to rush the field after an upset, oh wait, the SEC took that away from me. I guess the closet I will come is the LSU game, you remember that one, where I was flipping off my pals (KOR) in the stands while on the field saying “we got you” then Randall threw the miracle pass, fire works explode and then the catch in the end zone. Off I was running back in the stands saying “we are so cursed”! Good thing the KOR took me to the Keys to drown my sorrows! Just wanted you to hear what every UK fans feel of the passion for football…oh how we can dream!
I may be mistaken but I think the attendance rise has to do with Hal "Air Raid" Mumme's brief success at Kentucky (most recently at SLU). Also, having played a New Year's Day bowl helped, plus additions to the football stadium. The interesting thing is that a UK alum is president or CEO of Outback and that's how they got the bowl. My memory may not be as good as Wildcat Mike's, but I didn't think there was ANY legitimacy put on the Parcell rumor, in fact more like ridicule, by the Kentucky press.
