I hope this is legitimate. Next to Tedford, Del Rio was my favorite candidate.

Del Rio may be coming, but it will be as an assistant coach to STEVE SPURRIER!!!!!!!!!!!

 

What about you Texas, why not Del Rio??

 

Not bashing you are anything, but why do you feel this way? Aside from coppell_tiger's irrelevant reasons for not wanting him, what do you see as his downside?

 

whatever, look I have been reading this board for along time, I just started posting during the Saban situation. I am a HUGE LSU fan, and have been since 1971. I know I am not a 1 million poster like you, but I will stand by my info. All I am saying is Jack Del Rio will be the next coach, go ahead and bash me. Just remember where you hear this from. No flame here just wondering what makes you think he would be such a bad choice. Is it that you think there is a better coach available to LSU or do you think Del Rio is such a bad coach?

 

Or better yet, give details on HOW his source knows this.....Did he wake up from a dream about Del Rio? What's his connections to all of this?

That's what I'd like to know. And until he can provide me with more info, I'm not believing it.

 

I'd be curious to know what his first 7 were. At the very least, the dude has said that he is sticking his neck out. I say if he is wrong, he gets the arab treatment! :lol:

Yeah, so what's the problem with JDR anyway? I doubt he'd be committing right now. He has some major work in front of him, at least through Sunday. That would kind of suck. Maybe he has given a verbal to Skip. That's the only scenario I see with JDR at this point.

 

I will answer it, to be candid I dont really have a valid reason its just my opinion having read about him and his antics. He has NO college experience, just coaching a football game is one small part of a college program, recruiting, teaching young men, running a clean program.
Look I am not saying Del Rio cannot do it. But just my gut feeling this will be a failure. I really wanted a big name college coach who has skins in college football. I know pretty weak but just my personal preference.
I want Petrino, or Tedford I just didnt want an NFL spaz who has ZERO experience in running a college program and recruiting..
Just me opinion, I just dont want him as the LSU coach.. BUT I mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I just think he will be a failure and will be back in the NFL in 3 years...

 

Man, I am confused.

I thought that Del Rio would be a monster catch for our HC job. TT's points are very good, and now I'm not so sure.
