He very well may fail. I believe his vision, as we saw at LSU, will make him a great success. He will not be satisfied with just "being there". He has a plan and though he may have to adjust his demeanor with pro players and realize the personnel limitation whereas he had his pick year in and year out at LSU, I think he will do well. But there are no guarantees. We'll see soon enough.

He is a liar. He told Whit and Niswanger he would stay at LSU if they agreed to stay. They agreed. He told recruits two weeks ago he was staying. He told big donors he would stay to see Sabanville and the new stadium inprovements he would stay to see them to completion and the program on good financial ground. He complain about fans booing. He shows no regrets about leaving. Screw the liar.

NO, its about the the young men playing football for lsu on JAN. 1st, its all about them. You asked what could he have done differently, well first he could have told the dolphins he would not discuss a offer until after the bowl. He could have also been a little more honest about his decision to stay at LSU and not consider the NFL(remember last year "i'm not interested in the NFL") to the freshman on the team or even the older players. I guess you still think that all those top recruiting classes came because of LSU and not to play for Saban. I could add a few more but i'm just a little too pissed right now. Think of the young players from other states that came here mainly to play for him, i guess that doesn't matter. I know a lot of the players from Louisiana mainly come just to play for LSU but its not like that for some of the top players from other states.

Well in that case, no coach could ever leave for another job because they ALL lead kids to believe they'll be there forever. Coaches leave, kids reverse commitments and we overanalyze the whole thing. I am sure Saban has never said he would NEVER be interested in the NFL. But I respect your opinion. I am sure a lot of the players feel betrayed, but what do you expect Saban to do? He has a family that is is first priority, and I believe his family plays a huge role in his decisions.

Hey, Coach Saban did a great job for LSU and he was well paid for his services. That the Miami Dolphins wanted him as their Coach and he wants to go Coach there, while saddened to see him leave, that's fine too. But (there's always a but), to chose Christmas Day as a platform to make this announcement is wrong. It smacks of show business. This could have been done earlier or tomorrow.

Oh, it's interesting Saban's focus factor. You know, keep the team focused on the bowl game, and oh by the way, I'm going down to Miami to check out the facilities on Monday. Take it for what's worth,

I haven't seen anything shocking at all. People are hurt that he is leaving, which is understandable. Anger is a natural emotion. But from what I have seen, more people have concerns about the timing of his announcement and the process than they do with his actual departure. Perhaps that is a ruse for the pain, but I really don't see anyone disrespecting the man, so let's keep our facts straight. Let me give you an example of what would be unbelievable and unacceptable just so we are clear on things:

Saban is a ****ing *******. **** him. We never should have hired that **** in the first place. All he did was get our hopes up and then **** us in the ass. And today he ****ed us even harder. Cock-sucking ****er.

Now, that is ridiculous, don't you think? No one had even come close to that. Relax, it's all good.

In all fairness to Saban, I think he is going down there for the Dolphins PC to be introduced as the coach and answer some questions. That's it. That said, I agree with you and I would have preferred to see Saban wait until Jan 2. to do this. That's only a week away. Could have timed things better, I think.

I found it kind of funny and out of place, when he talked about the "booing incident". I know someone out there will say that I'm wrong for thinking it, but I thought it came accross as a way to deflect some of the negativity away from him. Reguardless of my perception, or his intent, I still thought it unrelated to the news about his departure.

Like you hear time and time again, "timing is everything". I still think it was poor taste to make his decision on Christmas day. If this was his decision, fine. But he could have said it yesterday, or Thursday, or better yet, like you said, after the bowl game (though that might not have been quite a good thing either because this whole thing would have been drawn out even longer, and that would have cut into our timetable to find another head coach).
