Well I hope LSU USC and OU all go undefeated, then Stoops can cry foul and hopefully get us 1 step closer to a playoff system.
Mark my words: Every year the media are talking about the same situation you are describing at the end of October. By the end of November, there are never more than 3 undefeated teams from BCS conferences, and that only happens once or twice in a decade. The Nightmare scenario won't happen this year either. Hopefully, we're not one of the teams that lose in November. GEAUX TIGERS
He looks just like Jason White. He gets to sit there in the pocket while the likes of Utah State, Tulsa, and North Texas manage to get no pressure on him. Of course he looks great.... :nope:
I didn't say anything or brag about him looking or being great. Besides, how would you rather start off the beginning of your season with a freshman QB? Would you rather your team struggle offensively and do their best to survive (Like Texas during their 1st 3 games) or dominate with your new QB no matter what the caliber of the competition?
That's just it -- there is no caliber of competition for OU right now. I'm not even sure Texas isn't getting ready to get blown out by 40 in the RRS. Yeah, he looks great. However, you guys are lining up for another postseason letdown in my opinion.
I'm not going to disagree with you one bit on that statement. I certainly hope not, but recent history suggests otherwise. I'm going to look at the glass as 1/2 full not 1/2 empty.
I think, overall, fans in this nation are pretty knowledgeable. I think they can watch games and actually see what is going on and be able to witness talent on the field and quality of opponents and make informed decisions about who is good and who is better. I just wish sportswriters could put aside biases and see the same things. Here is what I'm talking about ESPNU Allstate Standings (Fan poll)1. LSU 2. USC 3. Oklahoma 4. Florida 5. West Virginia 6. California 7. Ohio State 8. Texas 9. Wisconsin 10. Oregon My only problem with the fan poll is I would put FLA above Oklahoma and I think Wisconsin is woefully overrated and that will probably be proven this week when they take on Michigan State.
