1. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

you're a list guy not a football guy. no need to take it personally.
  2. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

The UT offense sure didn't help out the defense by throwing two interceptions and the Vols also had 11 penalties for 80+ yards helping out that 3.8 ypc rushing average by the Tiders quite a bit.

Stats tell a lot when you look at all of them...
  3. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

The stats also dont tell us that Bama had five key players suspended right before the game including key linemen because of the text book scandal, which eventually helped them fall apart for the rest of the season.

JPW had 370 yards passing. John...Parker...Wilson. DJ Hall ran underneath that defense all day long and they did not make one adjustment.
  4. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

Dude also had 300+ passing against LSU under Pellini in 2006.

    I'm just sayin'...
  5. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

    I'm posting this again...

Tennessee was ranked #70 in total defense in '07 (#69 rush defense, #73 pass defense) and #50 in total defense in '06 (#72 rush defense, #27 pass defense).

There's a good chance we get one of these years again, and I think some people are concerned. Don't get me wrong. I hope we get the stats of '08 and '05, but '07 and '06 are fresh in peoples' memory, which isn't encouraging.
  6. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

    Pelini was overrated.

    There.

    I said it.
  7. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

    One question:

Is anything official or is this still internet rumour? Any decent sources?
  8. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

100% agree. For example, how many goal line stands did you see? I can't remember any significant stops when it counted. Red zone D was terrible.
  9. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

It's not a done deal yet, but it's VERY close.
  10. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

I'm with ya, Cajun. The last time a Vols defense really impressed me was in the late 90s. And Chavis has always been Gatorbait!

    I don't like it. :nope:
