1. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

thats where we differ but i was asking a serious question where you had read that assessment of chavis.
  2. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

a very good friend of mine is a Tennessee fanatic and that was his summation of Chavis

look back at film during their championship season and then get back to me

obviously you weren't paying careful enough attention all those years. At least you tried.

You hate Chavis. We get it. Now move on.
  3. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

They held a pretty good LSU offense to just one touchdown last year. That had to be a season low.
  4. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

Tennessee usually put's out a good defense and this past year that was not their problem. I think they gave up on average 17 points a game and looked pretty good the times I seen them play.
I would'nt have a problem with him, certainly he will know sec offense.
  5. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

A system or philosophy is nothing but X's & O's on the chalkboard.

To be successful you obviously have to have the skilled players to "fit" your system and be willing to change and/or be flexible when you don't.

The little I know about Chavis tells me I think he would be a good fit for LSU.
  6. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

That was the exception, not the norm.

I just talked to one of my friends from Knoxville and he confirmed that Chavis coaches from the sideline. I didnt ask him about the Kentucky game because I read this after I talked to him but I have always seen Chavis on the sideline.

I dont hate Chavis but my tenn friends all had frustrations with him over the years. However, he will be an upgrade over our current situation and I will be happier for that. It may turn out great, who knows.
  7. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

:geaux::crystal::helmet: With the players we have and the one's coming in, this guy (Chavis) would be dynamite! I'm hoping we get him, soon!! But the longer it goes with no word, the more worried I get. I'm praying that CLM doesn't get so hung up on the loyalty aspect to Mallory/Peveto that he doesn't make a move. Loyalty is great and I'm all for it, to a point. It can go too far and lead to failure and get you fired. See DiNardo. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
  8. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

you may know more than me, but i have always seen chavis in the booth in every tenn game i've seen.
  9. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

agreed and has been said all over vol nation (not that is 100%)
  10. Re: DC Watch: John Chavis

Here are a few pics I got pretty easy. Does it look like he is coaching from the box?
