1. Chavis doesnt recruit. Well, he didnt at Tenn.
  2. He's not a recruiter.. but he's a strong coach and develops quality players. Just another selling point.
  3. psst....check out the Jarvis Jones thread on the recruiting forum :thumb:
  4. You are one fierce pirate, full of honor. Keep up the good work
  5. I read something very interesting in the Advocate this morning...apparently Chavis was after both Riley and Sheppard when they signed with LSU. Could he see something in these guys and make them what we all hoped they could be instead of the lackluster placeholders they seem to be?

I really can't wait. This is going to be an ESPECIALLY long off-season.
  6. I read where Chavis is a great recruiter, and that he has strong connections in No. LA.
  7. Which might explain how he was able to snatch Robert Peace away from LSU.
  8. Good hire as he certainly is knows the sec.
Turned down an offer last year to become the dc with the falcons which tells me he is highly respected.
  9. he is indeed a great draw for recruits many of whom want to play for him but like pelini he doesn't get involved with active recruitment of kids like most coaches do.

i believe mallory had little involvement on the recruiting end while peveto excelled in it.
  10. ...which brings to mind another question: With Peveto gone, Chavis not recruiting, and (let's face it) Coach O staying put, who will be our recruiting coordinator?
