Just got the stud DL Guillory this morning. LSU on a roll (tide). 93.04 average star rating highest in LSU recruiting history. Our previous best was .9151, so we are blowing the record out of the water.
I've got to believe that the win will help recruiting incrementally. Alabama no longer has the argument, "Yeah! But, LSU can't beat us so will never make the playoffs."
Expect some transition in that class... LSU is still looking at 4-5 more guys and others will be processed.
Most feel Evans is all LSU at this point. Many are feeling good about Burch and that he was at the game as a Bama guess to see LSU. If we can steal him from Clemson and USCe then that says a lot about where LSU is nationally. LSU has never recruited this well on the national stage. We've mostly done well in LA, TX, MS, FLA, and to a lesser extent GA. We've taken talent from AL, but typically kids that Bama didn't go after.
You are correct, what's standing out about this class is the reach we now have well beyond the borders of Louisiana and Texas. Evans is the big fish and would probably lock us in as the #2 recruiting class, second only to Clemson. He'd be the lone RB in our class, something Georgia or Texas can't say.
Separating LA/TX (Local vs Remote) 5 star 4 Remote 4 star 11 Local 8 Remote 3 Star 2 Remote Total 14 Remote 11 Local We've never seen the likes of our recruiting tentacles reaching out in this manner. We got a 5 star kid from California to come here. Another from DC, Virginia. We got a 4 star kid from Colorado. I've not seen us recruit from places like this before.
