FYI.. Bennie finished second in his heat of the 400m hurdles with a time of 48.57. This was the third fastest time posted in all of the opening heats. He'll race again in tomorrow in the semifinals.

Way to go Bennie. That is very impressive for a young guy like Bennie to run that well on such a huge stage. Good for him.

Awesome! I read somewhere that Bennie is taking some heat from the US Olympic team officials because he is wearing his LSU jersey around the Olympic village instead of his Team USA clothes.

Hell can you blame the kid? He has been a part of two national championship track teams and a national championship football team. I would be pretty damn proud of that as well.

Boy what a tough life deciding if you want the olympic medal or the national champions ring as the center piece of your display case. :D :D :D

You have to think that his best years are ahead of him. I mean most of the guys he is racing against are 5-10 years older than he is.

As great as it is to win the national championship I doubt that anything can compare to winning a gold medal while representing your country. Having your national anthem played while you stand at the top of the awards podium has got to have no higher high.
