Accusations that a UF football player attacked a university student were withdrawn Tuesday, closing the investigation concerning a party at Cabana Beach Apartments on Saturday, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

According to the initial police report, the student alleged that a football player attempted to steal the student's keg and then lifted him by his neck and threw him against his truck during an altercation, while four other players restrained the attacker.

The student identified the football players to police by searching through photos on UF's athletics Web site.

However, Sarah Wilson, an intern with GPD's public information department, said that the student changed his story on Monday, saying he could not positively identify the alleged attacker.

The report said that UF football coach Urban Meyer was forwarded the information. Neither Meyer nor the University Athletic Association would immediately comment.

I haven't seen anyone trashing anyone LSU in this thread, just stating the facts. Everyone realizes that up until now Miles hasn't had to deal with anything like this and now that he has he has been firm and swift. I don't forsee any problems in the near future.
