1. The OSU is and will always be #1 on my hate list. So . . . I’m having a hard time not pulling for his sacking. At the same time, I struggle with the concept that the boss is responsible for the employee’s conduct while not on job. Where is the line, or is there not one?

When teaching we HAD to report anything that we saw, felt, or heard about a student being abused. I get that, but I’m unaware of a requirement to report a fellow teacher.

  2. More to the point, would the principal get fired because one of the teachers was beating his wife?
  3. there is no moral relativism with this, if he knew he had a duty first as a damn man to notice someone or have a conversation with the coach.

  4. As a Drill Sergeant we had the same obligation if one of the other DS were either having sex with or abusing the trainees.

Unlike the civilian sector, if it came out that it was going on the guilty party AND all that knew about it go to jail.

  5. perception is reality in this situation. the chick told Urbans wife, i would never believe that Urban's wife would keep that to herself. She would know that her husband's livelihhod would be in jeporady because of it.. Therefore what you have is a coach that knew about a dude beating his wife and said nothing. This appearance is not soomething tOSU will tolerate. if they do they risk looking like shitbags.

  6. Not a moral issue. Of course the right thing to do is to put a stop to the abuse. The issue is legal and dollars. You have lost revenue or possibly a settlement vs right or wrong. I don’t think the collective track record is all that great.

Remember, it’s never about the money, until it’s about the money.

  7. I just listened to C Smith interview. She's definitely a sheep. Shame on her parents too, she told them.
However, her believing it was the coach's responsibility is whack. If it were my daughter I would have brought the wood.

  8. Even if the sex was consensual?
  9. In the military and deployed the wives would form a wives club. I had a a wife 10 years out of the 12 i was in. They used this club for mutual support seeing that we were always fucking deployed to some shit hole. I would imagine being a coaches wife is similar as they probably hardly ever see their husbands during the season. So i can see her telling the head coaches wife.

That said daddy should have brought the wood to old boy
