OK, how about considering the last President and holding him responsible for his policies THEN considering the current president and holding him responsible for his policies? But you think that is unfair somehow and constantly attempt to blame the results of BOTH of their policies on the current guy while denying anybody else's comparisons with the last guy as insignificant, unimportant, and invalid. Can't let you get away with it.
1. Stimulus prevented a Depression and started the economy out of Bush's second recession. 2. Withdrawal from Iraq on schedule. 3. Stepping up missile attacks significantly on Al Qaeda in Pakistan instead of taking chit from them. 4. On schedule for withdrawal from Afghnaisitan. 5. Health Care Plan passed allowing all Americans to get coverage. 6. Declared 2 million acres to be eleigible to be preserved as wilderness. Etc. Etc. What were Bush's accomplishments again?
Arguable and cannot be proven To the ultimate detriment of the Iraqi people Pakistan became overtly pro al qaeda after Obama took office. To the detriment of America's safety Remains to be seen, probably to the detriment of the middle class and hugely unpopular. To prevent drilling for much needed oil.
Hey, recessions have definitions and we came out of the recession in June of 2009. Look it up. Fugg the Iraqi People. It is to the benefit of Americans, Abdul. Why do you love these ragheads so much? You really, really don't want to debate me on this, Hoss. You have misfired already. 10 years is long enough to try to prop up an Afghan government in a place where they have never had one and never will. The place is tribal and some strongman will fight it out and take charge . . . for a few years and then they repeat when necessary. Afghanistan is no threat to us except when they harbored Al Qaeda, who has moved on to Pakistan. After what happened last time, not even the Taliban is going risk American punishment again by letting Al Qaeda come back. If they do, then its bombs away again. Your predilection for favoring costly, endless wars in places that have nothing we need is disturbingly shared by most of the right-wing extremists. We're in a knife fight and playing by their rules. The American Way of War is short, extremely violent, and victorious. Long expensive occupations of territory we don't want full of people who hate us and consider us invaders is a losers proposition. And a major plank on the republican platform. Wrong, the country is fairly evenly split on this issue.
