Serious point. If Bama wins the first game, they deserve to be there, right? That would show that they were more deserving than the team they beat. And no, Bama losing doesn't mean they should NOT have been there, necessarily, cause whomever would've been in their spot may have lost, too. At the end of the day, the world may never know.

In the selection of Bama over Ohio State a big part of the eye test was "Would Alabama have lost by 31 against Iowa." The committee didn't think so and I can''t see that possibly happening.
