An early signing period is an interesting concept. I'm undecided. If anything it might benefit the Big10. Once kids from warmer climates get a look see at what PSU and aOSU look like in the winter, they're not so interested. However, get them to sign before it gets too cold and they don't know any different. Can't wait to see Jimmy Clausen try on his first South Bend winter.

I agree on the TV coverage. High school kids have learned how much leverage they hold and it's not a good thing for them or us really. The hat/shirt routine is getting played out. It's classless and arrogant.

I thought the paid visits were at 3?

He did not say "watch this, idiot". He said "watch this idiot".

Okay, I'll buy that. But which one is the idiot? If it's JM, then I'd rather be called the idiot. He's 17 years old in his first big time news conference and had just announced a very emotional decision that he'd been holding in for months!

He's a good kid, a great player, and I'd say that regardless of where he had chosen to play.

Dunno, but if I had seen it as an insult directed toward someone here I would have at the very least edited that out.

If Pete Carroll had any sense, he'd jump to the now open Chargers job before the USC scandals get out of control. SD has stockpiled an incredible amount of talent, and will only get better as Philip Rivers matures. Under the right coach, the Chargers could win the Super Bowl next season. But, I doubt PC makes the jump, not because he's necessairly in love with SC, but because he's a raging egomaniac who wants total control. Sorry, bub, but greater coaches than PC had that power and failed miserably.

The most interesting thing I find about that article is the implication that "LSU fans are running wild with it."

A perspective from a little further East follows the same line of reasoning. Agent $, guaranteed press, package to take care of Mama...

USCVBall...you won't recognize this name, but the LSU group here will...

This is beginning to remind me a lot of Kelly Washington.

The only Kelley Washington I'm familiar with is the guy who played pro baseball before playing for the Vols. I think he was a Biletnikof finalist the year that Josh Reed won? I have no idea what type of issue he was involved with.

Nice call, Terry. Indeed it does resemble the KW recruitment ......
