I don't think we can judge Mustain on not beating out Dick. Nutt had a new Offensive Coordinator forced on him (Mustain's high school head coach from Springdale, AR), and he got Mitch, a receiver and one other player to go to Arky (Mustain changed his committment from Fla. to Ark). Ark. got blown out in game 1, and Nutt took over the offense as a result. They went away from the OC's passing style back to running McFadden and Jones. Mustain criticized Nutt to teammates, it got back to Nutt, and Mustain was never to see the field again. The Springdale mom's took out a full page ad in a paper up there, calling Nutt a liar in recruiting their kids, saying he told them they would operate a passing attack, but backed off it after just a one game try. The OC quit at the end of the season, without much comment, Mustain transferred, Frank Broyles had to retire, Nutt was forced out. All in all, it was the ugliest college football goings on I EVER recall. Long story, but Mustain could be quite good, IMO. Everything I have heard about Nutt disgusts me. I hope Mitch gets a shot, and that he shines. After what he went through, he deserves something good to happen to him.
I'm aware of that whole story; however, I still refuse to believe that Nutt was cutting off his nose to spite his face that season. With Dick (please pardon any puns), Arkansas won the West in '06. Mustain did play some, and he may be just fine. Still, with all of the issues with his mommy and his high school coach trying to run the show for him, I'll have to see what he can do to truly judge.

Hope Mustain's mom feels he gets a decent chance at USC. A full page ad in LA would cost big bucks. :shock:
I, for one, hope that he's alright, for two reasons... 1. I don't like to see anyone hurt, ever. 2. I want USC at full strength, so there are no excuses.

After reading everything I read about the situation the Springdale players and parents disgust me!!!!!!! Mustain wasn't pulled after one game, he played in like 7 of them and threw 10 td passes vs 9 int's with a 52% completion percentage. Nutt went back to using his 2 All Amercians like he should have and a couple of the players and some parents whined about it.
I agree with this. DMac and Felix Jones, and we're gonna play some punk freshmen?? I don't give a crap what mommy says...NO!
