ECU is bad. Undisciplined. Penalty prone. No offense to speak of. Clumsy defensive secondary. VT's offense is not scary at all. Where are the playmakers?! They have a sound D, but it can be exploited. I wonder how the Hokies are dealing with all the emotionalism. If I were a tough-guy athlete who represented a university that was negligent in dealing with a bloody tragedy, I wouldn't necessarily get fired up about what is going to be a yearlong memorial. LSU should win handily next Saturday night in Death Valley.
Still only 21 yds rushing yards for VT. With our secondary's ability to cover and pressure from our D-Line, it COULD make for a long day for VT next week. They have no chance if they cannot run against us.
That's what would worry me. I saw enough to know we're okay. Even giving allowance for the teams "Improving more tween games one and two" - they'd need to improve A LOT. Not that they couldn't beat us but if they play their best game and we play ours.......LSU wins. Their OLine is getting eaten up, wait till they meet Dorsey's Demolition Derby.
You're damn right; the team should get psyched up against the VT defense but not get psyched out. I have a feeling most if not all Tiger fans have the same sentiment. Didn't Mays already started trashing about them during the game? Oops, my bad; he was bashing Michigan.
I agree. Our defense should be able to do some serious damage to their offense. We have to be well prepared against their nasty special teams play which also is very opportunistic. It will be very interesting how Crowton would exploit their defense's weakness.
Well, I was really nervous about the game next week after seeing us look a little sluggish in our way-lopsided victory the other night. Now, I'm cautiously optimistic that we are quite a good bit better than VT AND their vaunted defense. Obviously, we cannot be complacent, but I'm predicting a good looking win next Saturday night.
What's important for the LSU team to realize is that the VT defense CAN be beaten, as long as they have a good gameplan with good execution.
Funny you should say that because I'm sure there will be as many fried turkeys at tailgate parties next week as one would usually see at Thanksgiving. I wonder if the stores around Baton Rouge will have enough at this time of year?
