CTT's refusal to discipline Ramsey furthers my point of the coaching staff's involvement in this type of play. Whether that be coaching or by example considering that you admit that this type of play will not be tolerated and then saying that you will not punish someone who plays in this manner. If Ramsey believed that he wouldn't even sniff the playing field if he behaves in this manner he wouldn't do it. By idley sitting by and not wanting to change your players behavior while acknowledging that it happened shows me a lack of sincerity to enforce your policies. So yes coaching staff bears responsiblity for actions of their players. So does the whole program. Tyson Jackson's play against UK reflected bad on LSU team not just him. CLM addressed the issue. Tubby publicly said he wouldn't discipline his player. That says enough. You don't have to specifically instruct a certain behavior, if you condon such actions that is just the same. Coaches are always held accountable for the behavior of their team. How many post critical analysis of CLM due to the way certain players perform. Are they not holding CLM accountable for his players' actions? Well why is it a stretch to hold CTT responsible for the actions of his players. Anyone who works in a management position understands that if the people that you supervise don't perform that your boss will hold you accountable. Mine sure does. So CTT and his staff are accountable by default alone.:wink:
I was at the game and didn't see it live. After seeing the vid, this is horrible. He should be suspended by the SEC and at least benched by Auburn. I think neither happens though, because Dorsey didn't get a season ending injury. It is unfortunate that a player has to get a season or career ending injury for the SEC to suspend somebody for this type of intentional play. Was Vick punished for the knee stomp he did last year?
I also cannot understand the Umpire: This is the description of an Umpires responsibilities. Umpire Primary responsibility to rule on players’ equipment, as well as their conduct and actions on scrimmage line. Lines up approximately four to five yards downfield, varying position from in front of weakside tackle to strongside guard. Looks for possible false start by offensive linemen. Observes legality of contact by both offensive linemen while blocking and by defensive players while they attempt to ward off blockers. Is prepared to call rule infractions if they occur on offense or defense. Moves forward to line of scrimmage when pass play develops in order to insure that interior linemen do not move illegally downfield. If offensive linemen indicate screen pass is to be attempted, Umpire shifts his attention toward screen side, picks up potential receiver in order to insure that he will legally be permitted to run his pattern and continues to rule on action of blockers. Umpire is to assist in ruling on incomplete or trapped passes when ball is thrown overhead or short.
He may not TEACH it there scootymack, but he dang sure don't seem to be REPRIMANDING IT too hard either!!!!! And you made another comment about two calls going are way. Check the video that is circling around on here that shows 7 on the line. Now you are down to one questionable call...and that makes the score on BS calls - Auburn 87 and LSU -1.
