I've heard that as well. The pilot told me she screamed something along the lines of "God is great, God is good, Thank God Nick's in a Crimson hood." He was laughing so hard when he told me that I would swear he was crying... At least she wasn't trying to rock the plane!
Oh man I loved this video. http://www.myfoxal.com/myfox/pages/...n=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1 It's Gene Stallings talking about the hire but the end is kind of funny.
I posted this in another thread yesterday but it seems to more appropriate here. Got to love those Tuscaloosa folk... So I'm watching the Fox 6 (out of Birmingham) newscast of the Saban's landing at the Tuscaloosa airport. The new reporters first question - "Coach, have you had a chance to look at the facilities?" Answer - "I just got off the plane." Everyone was whooping and hollaring - the Fox announcer said it reminded him of the Beatles landing in America in the '60s. Note - there were a few hundred people there to cheer. They then interview Terry Saban. She says that Huizenga was a nice, hard working man of integrity but they wanted to get back to college. She said Huizenga tried to keep them there and that "it took us a long time to get out of there." Some grown woman behind her then asked her for her autograph. Terry Saban laughed and said, "Are you going to be this excited when we beat Auburn? Nick is already looking at gamefilm." The grown woman starts jumping around and yelled, "We will love you. Thank you Jesus, praise the Lord." The camera left with Terry Saban having a peculiar look on her face. Highest of high comedy. Welcome to Tuscaloosa Mrs. Saban. Have fun shopping for groceries in that town. (Note - I am an LSU alum but grew up in Tuscaloosa, the son of two diehard Bama alums - my pop has all the Bama paintings in his house. I've received numerous emails and text message today saying we are all quaking in our boots. Hilarious.)
Yeah, he was about to answer a good question. Interesting that he got "cut off" right when she asked him to follow up on an earlier quote by him saying that coaches should honor their contracts. I'm sure it was an innocent technical problem.
Notice that Saban was wearing a purple shirt???? I guess he'll have to get nothing but maroon shirts from this point on.......or until he goes to another school. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
