doesn't this plan just cause more loans and more debt? Now people with no car note, get to get a car they cannot afford.
i saw a show on Nat Geo this weekend that said 25% of our carbon emissions were absorbed by trees on the planet. so why can't the world just make an effort to recycle and planet trees.
Because it is a big hoax, its not about the earth its about gov. and wall street making money. Obama called for a carbon tax and goldmans sachs has already bought a lot of the carbon emissions trades, and has invested a lot of money in the carbon emissions.
For those of you who think the Cash for Clunkers program isn't a good thing, you might want to do a little research. I am not saying that there isn't going to be some attrition, as there is with many programs that benefit one area. Let me point out that I am in no way an Obama supporter, didn't vote for him, nor do I think that his administration has shown that it is doing what is best for the American people. This program, however, is the only thing that has been done with the stimulus money that is showing any signs of having a positive effect. If you don't believe that this program will have a positive effect on the US economy, just do a little homework into the over 2500 industries that are effected by new auto sales. This isn't just about the auto manufacture's, this is about the economy as a whole, the dependency on petroleum, the lowering of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, and raising consumer confidence. In regards to the comments about that this should have been done for only the domestic brands, just check out where Toyota's, Honda's, Nissan's, and Hyundai's are built, they are more American than most of the domestic brands. If you don't believe this is working or will work just do a bit of research and you will come up with more positives than negatives.
its creating more debt and not showing you the companies it hurts. all those people who normally would not have bought a car without free money would have spent their money on a new pc or tv or whatever. those get crushed because the govt decided which one to bail out. it just so happened it helped one of the industries it owns-- 60% is it?
Exactly this. If it was about the economy as a whole then everyone would have gotten $4500 to spend on whatever they wanted rather than pigeon-holing people into one specific purchase. I'm sure plenty of the people that took advantage of the program probably didn't even need a new car.
the part i really dont like is the pretense that somehow taking that 4500 from taxpayers is acceptable. i want to keep my share of the 4500, i was gonna stimulate the economy with it. and i was going to buy what i want, not what the government wants for some car driving idiot. i dont even own a car, i dont care about cars at all, i hate this!
As I said do a little homework into the over 2500 industries that benefit by new auto sales. As for the pc's and electronics, who do you think builds the computers that go into cars, it certainly isn't GM, Ford, or Toyota.
