I got sent a virus from "[email protected]" on my yahoo mail account today. The title of the e-mail is "Notice again". The message says " you have downloaded these illegal cracks?"

The attached file is named : abuselist_lsusportsfreak.zip
    .zip file

Yahoo mailer scanned and reported the virus as :

    Scan result: Virus "W32.Netsky.P@mm" found.
You can not download this attachment. You have two options:
    1. Sign up for Yahoo! Mail Plus to get automatic cleaning of infected attachments. Learn more.
(Note: Not all viruses can be cleaned.)
    2. Contact the message sender and request that they resend the attachment to you after cleaning it with anti-virus software.

Beware of this email if any of you have gotten it.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER EVER open up an email with a ".exe" or ".zip". Will be a trojan or worm virus guaranteed. Even if it's from somebody you know, if they include an attachement with those extensions, don't open it.

Netsky spoofs email addresses, so its likely that someone who emailed support at some point has the virus.

I just wanted to reiterate what captainpodnuh said. This virus spoofs (forges) e-mail addresses. TigerForums.com did not send any of these messages and please do not open them.

Agreed on the .exe extensions, but I have need to mail .zip archives back and forth fairly often. Just get yourself a good copy of Symantec Antivirus.

I have the need to send and receive zip files frequently and exe files occasionally between myself and trusted associates. You just have to make sure that before you open one of those files you are sure that your friends meant to send it and what for.
