we've decided to take the plunge though and booked the Extended stay hotel, its on Corporate Blvd, it seemed close (ish) on the map, so were hoping we can somehow find a shuttle bus or even just get a taxi to get us close enough to walk in.

The plan was to stop over and go with flow, ie: if the celebrations and partying carry on into the night we want to be part of it.

It will be fine. It's in a good area and you can take a cab to get close enough to walk. The big question is getting back to the hotel but if you're friendly and enterprising enough I bet you could find some to take you back.
