As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, they were probably gassed by the 4th quarter. Towson gained 144 yards on those two drives. Otherwise we had held them to 150 or so through 3 quarters. How many 3 and outs and short drives did our O have tonight? Defense was on the field way too long.
He's too stubborn and hard headed to do that; which is one thing I can't stand about him. Trust me, you'll see more of the same next week.
I'm confident the defense will be fine and perform in Gainsville, unless our offense keeps continuing to back them into a corner.
Yes, it was an ugly game. In all fairness, though, Mett did throw a few strikes. Let's hope he can build on those few positive glimpses of what he can do.
Here's the shred of hope i'm holding on to...we looked pretty aweful on offense going into the swamp in 2010. The o came to play in that game and we came out with a big win. Unfortunately, at least JJ could hurt you with his legs. Mett can't do that. I love my Tigers, but if we play Florida like we did in any game this year outside of the Washington game, we get housed. On the other hand, if we play like we did against Washington, we could come out with a much-needed, hopefully team re-energizing win. Let's geaux Tigers! Every goal they set before the season is still very much in play. We have everything to play for.
I just don't know if we are ever going have success in the passing game unless Miles makes changes on offense and gives up the reigns.
