Oh. Cajun. Ok. Not funny, but, OK.

Edwin was slick, womanized, gambled, made a lot of money and was a huge smartass. But...he never stole 1 penny of Louisiana taxpayer money.

But he peddled millions of dollars worth of influence, steering state contracts and favors to paying clients, thus ending up in federal prison.

Edwin is an elegant and likable rogue, but a criminal none the less.

None of which happened while he was actually serving as governor. His influence in these deals was vastly overstated by Federal prosecuters.

The only testimony to the contrary came from turncoats who lied to save their own ass.

He's a democrat. He's going to vote for Obama. He probably banged Hillary already. He's got pictures of Jindal and a sheep. You're a closet liberal, eh?

I don't carry Edwin's water. In fact, I always assumed he was a crook. Read the book.

Be careful, the way they word 'em now sometimes voting "No" actually means Yes and passes it. They're very crafty with the wording.

Nope, but he wasn't above selling the position. His brother Stephen once looked my father dead in the eye and told him if he wanted the governor's signature on some legislation that favored his industry, it would cost him such-and-such an amount of money.

Just make education better in this state, and make our infrastructure better, fix New Orleans and the levees, bring jobs to this state, and i don't care how crooked you are.

Taking kickbacks is the same as taking taxpayer money.

I didn't say Stephen wasn't a crook. That dude deserved jail time.
