I agree. However, saying he doesn't need to meet with them again makes me wonder. Does that mean he might not be as interested as he first thought or he really wants to do this so whatever they offer he'll take?
I think this sounds about right. His decision is going to be based off of his family and if he can be happy at the college level and not proving himself in the NFL. I expect a decision pretty soon.
I read elsewhere that Jones planning on trying to get Saban to Miami and (get this) retiring to BATON ROUGE afterwards. He's either brave or stupid or both.
If he met with Dolphins officials on Monday, that would make it 10-13 days from the time of his one and only very comprehensive meeting to his making a decision. I think that's very fair. He gets ample time to weigh the pros and cons, make his decision a week prior to the bowl game so as to help keep distractions minimal (given the circumstances), and allow Skip to begin contacting others now to gauge interest and hit the ground running in annoucing candidates and conduction interviews...all some 6 weeks or so prior to National Signing Day. Given the fact (I repeat, fact) that Nick Saban went as late as January 16, 2004 before finally saying no to the Bears, saying yes or no to the Dolphins by December 26 is just fine, IMO.
Business is business... A good friend of mine told me that his grandfather and Eddie Jones were very close friends (he passed away) - my buddy told me that Eddie Jones' office looks like it should be the lobby of the LSU Athletic Department. He has all of the baseball posters up along with all kinds of LSU stuff that covers all four walls of his office...
even more reason to want to beat him up  also, the 7-10 days gives the fins time to interview a Black Assistant.
