that it would drop him from a consensus 1st to 2nd round pick all the way out of the draft? anyone have some real news on this? sure would like to see CNS take him in free agency..
I don't know if Ben was ever a consensus 1st or 2nd rounder by the pro's or analyst but if he was the knee injury could easily push him way back. And not being drafted in the last couple of rounds will give him a big advantage if his knee does heal well and he can prove it by the time he signs with somebody. If he can show his knee is strong and do well in workouts he will have much more bargaining power than a lete round selection.
he was a consensus first round up until the injury. But I can not imagine him not getting drafted at all.
I don't think Wilkerson was ever a concensus first round pick. Remember, he had an injury history even before this last knee injury.
Well, it was clear, after his injury, and as the combine progressed, that he wouldn't be a 1st rounder....but I'm VERY surprised he wasn't ANY ROUND.... :dis: Let's hope someone offers him a shot as an UDFA, and he catches on...
C3Ben WilkersonSR6-4/300/-LSUHemphill, TX I guess no one read this..... Round 3 1. Ben Wilkerson, C LSU As mentioned before, a replacement for Tobeck would be nice to have. Wilkerson was the best center in the Draft until he hurt his knee. If he fully recovers, he could be an absolute steal. You have to be kidding me. I can't help but feel bad for big Ben. :dis:
Centers are RARELY first round picks. Wasn't Blue Gay an udrafted free agent ? Last time I checked he started in the Super Bowl and is wearing a ring ! Tom Brady wasn't drafted until the 6th round. Ben will do fine.
