You are going to love it...the scenery is not as beautiful as tailgating on a boat on Lake Washington, but the food and the passion are great and unbeatable. And seeing a game in Death Valley leaves a mark. As someone else already said, unless you plan to book very very early I would suggest you stay in NOLA and then drive up early to Baton Rouge on game day. Stay longer if you can, enjoy Louisiana. It is a beautiful place and very different from the Seattle scenery. I can tell you, I went the opposite way. Be prepared to the heat, even the hottest day in Seattle cannot compare. Of course a 6 pack of Abita beer may help you keep hydrated.
I'm looking forward to boudin in November. It's been over 20 years since I had that, and I seem to remember I liked it a lot.
YEP .. being a competent preparer of Cajun and Creole Food has pretty much made me a hero up here in Piggy Land. Of course, I have to make it "piggy style", as they don't like quite as much spice. When I travel, one of my main goals is to taste the flavor of the area. I"ll have to say, no place beats Louisiana.
You should definitely stay in New Orleans at some point during your stay, but I would suggest staying in Baton Rouge on gameday and that night.
The crew and I made the trip to Seattle, we stayed for a week, but would have liked to have stayed for a month. Too much to do. A Seaplane into Victoria was great. I'll look for some of the Pics later. Keep us up to date, I'll handle your food and booze for the tailgate, just let me know. :tigereye:
