    Fri -- 7:00 p.m. RHP Aaron Nola
    Sat -- 6:30 p.m. RHP Ryan Eades
    Sun -- 1:00 p.m. LHP Cody Glenn

    coach Mainieri:

"Washington has a very talented club with SEC-caliber players, so we're looking forward to a strong challenge."

"We plan to treat this series like an SEC weekend," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "We'd like to simulate the preparation and atmosphere that we'll experience in our league each week. The weather should be warmer this weekend, so we're hoping for some great crowds to give our players a taste for what it's like when we start playing SEC games.

This weekend's series marks the first meeting in baseball between LSU and Washington.

The Huskies will be making their first-ever, regular-season visit to an SEC school.

Not counting A&M and Missouri (who weren't in the SEC when Washington played them), Washington is 5-5 vs. SEC schools (Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee)

Washington has only traveled east of the Mississippi River during the regular season only three times in its history: a tournament in Viera, Fla., in 1998, a three-game series at Georgia Tech in 2004 and a tournament at East Carolina in 2007

    Washington's returning pitchers combined for a 20-11 won-lost record in 2012.

their 3 starters LSU will face are:

Fri - Junior RHP Austin Voth -- 9-2 record over this year and last year... he held opponent batters to a .227 batting avg last season, and a .235 batting average this season. so for this season, he has 31 Ks in only 21.1 inning pitched, and only 4 walks...those 31 Ks are currently #1 in the Pac 12 (which is loaded with talent). the Washington coach says this about him: "He's been up to 93 in the fall and has thrown a much better slider," Meggs says of Voth. "The last couple of years, he really hasn't had a second pitch that he can throw for strikes. Now he has a second and a third. He has a slider that's been a plus pitch for him this offseason and he's throwing a very good change-up. Right now, that's kind of what separates him from Palewicz as far as being the Friday guy.

Sat - Junior RHP Nick Palewicz -- he's holding opponent batters to a .235 batting avg this season. the Washington coach on him: "Over the summer, he was up to 95 and lit it up in the California Collegiate League."

Sun - Sophomore RHP Tyler Davis -- he's holding opponent batters to a .237 batting avg during his career at Washington. he was a Louisville Slugger All-America coming out of high school and played for the USA National Team

and here are Washington's three main bullpen guys this season:

--the closer: Junior RHP Tyler Kane -- had a 7-2 record last year, with a 2.19 ERA and held opponent batters to a .238 batting avg

--Junior RHP Trevor Dunlap -- he has a 0-0 record, with a 0.00 ERA and has held opponent batters to a .235 batting avg this season
the Washington coach on him: "Trevor is a guy who can come in and throw strikes," says Meggs. "He's a fastball/slider guy who was 91 in the fall and with his downhill plane, we think he can give right-handers some problems."

--Junior RHP Zach Wright -- he's been holding opponent batters to a .242 batting average over his career at Washington. the UW coach on him: "Zach's got enough stuff to start, but we think we need him in the middle of the game to get us as close as possible to the end of the game."

and a couple of the other guys to watch in the Washington bullpen:

Junior RHP Dae Yang Kim -- he's holding opponent batters to a .257 batting avg over his career at Washington. the UW coach on him: "He has good stuff"

Junior LHP Jacob Coats -- he's holding opponent batters to a .091 batting avg over his career at Washington -- coming out of high school, he was the Idaho Gatorade State Player of the Year and the Louisville Slugger Player of the Year

at the plate, Washington has been terrible so far this season. they are batting .251 as a team this season, and they were #216 in the NCAA (out of 295 teams) in batting average coming into this week. the only major conference teams with a lower team batting avg were Oregon and Missouri (unless you want to count the Big Ten as a major baseball conference, in which case you can add Nebraska and Penn State)

however, Washington does have two great hitters:

--senior OF Jayce Ray -- he's batting .391 this season (#6 in the Pac 12) and .311 last season. he was a first-team JUCO All-America before cominig to UW

--soph 2B Robert Pehl -- he's batting .349 this season and had a terrific summer season in the elite Cape Cod League, where he hit .329 and was third in the league in runs batted in. last season he hit .293 in the Pac 12 as a freshman

    also this guy is decent:

--senior OF Joe Meggs is batting .291 for his career at UW, including .317 in 2011 (he's .286 so far this season)

and these four aren't doing well this year, but have potential to do a lot better:

--soph 1B Trevor Mitsui -- he's currently only batting .268 this season, but he hit .308 last season (bringing his UW career avg to .299). coming out of high school, he was drafted 12th Round in the Draft and he was a first-team All-America selection by both USA Today and Baseball America (second-team All-America by the ABCA) as well as the Gatorade Washington state player of the year and the Washington State coaches' 3A state player of the year

--senior OF Michael Camporeale -- he was a JUCO All-America before he came to UW, but hit .270 last year at UW and is hitting .259 this year

--freshmen C Austin Rei and OF Braden Bishop were both taken in the 2012 MLB Draft out of high school, but are only hitting .190 and .156 so far for Washington
