Mike D, I don't know where you went and paid $5.00 for a 10oz. Bourbon and coke, but it wasn't at the State Palace. Actually, our prices are very reasonable for downtown.

Why is everyone hating on me?

OK Everyone (Philter, MikeD, and Me). Don't hate the playa, Hate the game.

Agreed on TOPS. Wasn't there for me either. If you know where to go in the Quarter, you won't pay $5 for a drink unless you are looking for top shelf. Gnatgurl is right on that one, especially not at the State Palace.

When I went to the State Palace for the Sugar Bowl, regular bourbon and cokes in small cups (like the ones you get at BR casinos) were $4.50. Maybe it was different than normal because it was a special event but it sounds like they are making the Super Bowl a special event also.

The Sugar Bowl event was very poorly planned and managed. The doors opened atleast 30 minutes late so there was a giant mob (probably 1000 people) in front of the doors getting squeezed because of that. To make it worse they were giving free tickets away at the door so if people wanted a free ticket they had to push through the crowd that was already packed extremely tight.

Also, the will call for people who paid for VIP tickets was retarded. They had one lady writing down credit card info by hand. Hello, has anyone there ever heard of this new invention called a computer?

Once inside the bar situations were horrible. In the VIP section they had two bartenders and 3 waitresses for about 200-300 people. It was far from adequate to say the least.

Things did calm down some after an hour or two inside but that was my first time at the State Palace so I'm a little touchy about that. That first hour waiting outside, packed like sardines with people pushing and yelling, to get in because management hadn't prepared well was the most miserable I've been in a long time.

My buddy said it was crowded, but he said he had a great time. He didin't complain about getting in or anything like that. I know he had advance VIP tickets.

sugar bowl party was a blast. I just hope that if it ever happens again, that fat bald guy organizes it better. those of us that paid $50 had to wait in a long line while the freebies got in fairly quickly.

    Del-gaa-doo

....me and you at Del-ga-doo.... Junior year in high school is harder than a whole two year program at Delgado. Took a couple courses there. Didn't crack a book. Got an A and a B. What a joke.

gnatgurl, you are getting alot of free advertising/publicity on this website. Thousands of Tiger fans will read this, and no doubt you will get some customers from this free pub.

It would be admirable if you could return the favor by acknowledging Tigerforums.com at the event. Nothing fancy, maybe a sign near the screen letting your customers know to check out Tigerforums.com. :)
