Today can be used as proof that it sux to be in the SEC. All the SEC teams kill each other, thus for all practical purposes, eliminating SEC teams from NC contention. Ill bet the farm that most SEC teams could give Miami or Oklahoma a good game (Vandy, Kentucky excluded). Now with a playoff system, the winner of the SEC would be guarenteed a spot in a playoff for the national championship. Any thoughts?
It would also make losing a game or 2 not want you to do the Hare Kare thing. It would get a larger audience interested just because of the underdog factor of the teams getting in - a la March Madness.
It truely is a sickening thought that we don't have some small form of a playoff system in college football.
I'm with Saban on this one. Just have a playoff with the 4 BCS games. Having a big open playoff would make the regular season less exciting.
let the conference champs duke it out in a playoff...no wild cards, just conf. champs.(of course you'd have to make the notre dame provision)
If every other division can have a 16 team playoff there is no reason why the same thing can't be done at the D 1A level. Losing a game or two shouldn't automatically eliminate a team that wins its conference from NC contention. After all Tampa Bay lost to the Saints twice last year and still won the Superbowl/
yeh have all 12 winners of their respective confs and 4 at larges...you can still keep the bowl games
