We'll have a much better shot of advancing than ULL or UNO. These guys will likely be a seed into the teens. LSU won't be much lower than a 10-11 seed. Plus, LSU is a better team than these other Louisiana team.
It's tough not being blinded by a burning hatred for a coach, thus being able to reasonably talk about college basketball...
If UNO wins, they will probably get a 15 seed, and will likely not get out of the 1st round. If UL-Lafayette wins, they could get a 13 seed, and they might have a chance. They are actually pretty good. We are now projected as a 10 seed, which confirms the worst for me; we have to win at least one game at the SEC Tourney to lock up an at-large bid, and go to the SEC Finals if we want to be a high seed in the first round. Right after Florida, a 2 seed and a Western Division title were within our grasp. Why is this happening to us?!?! WHY?!?!!
Don't forget SLU, which is in the semi-finals of the Southland Tournament. If they win the Southland, we will likely have four Louisiana teams in the NCAA Tourney. Can't remember the last time we had that many.
Oh, I was thinking of somebody else. Centenary. But they have already been bounced from the Mid-Con Tournament. Louisiana Tech is in the WAC Tourney this week, but I seriously doubt they will do much there. They haven't had a good year. Tulane is a lost cause.
Any chance Southern or Grambling might get SWAC bid, then we will have six teams. That would be awesome for a small state.
They both barely made it into their conference tournaments. While it is possible that either could get on a roll and win the SWAC Tourney, the smart money is on 23-6 regular season champion Mississippi Valley State.
