1. Sure, agreed. But I wonder how much credit the computers and polls give to that point. SEC has been suffering from its members knocking each other off for years, and it looks to me like being unbeaten, even while playing a schedule like the one Kansas played, is more important than playing in a tough conference, with the BCS poll. I'm guessing here, but it feels to me like the BCS computers equate the SEC equally with the Big East, ACC and Big Ten when it comes to conference schedules. So a quality game with an out-of-conference team is very beneficial, IMO. I still cringe when I think of the hosing unbeaten Auburn caught from the BCS.
    Cheers.
  2. UGa probably.
  3. There is no doubt that unless the BCS will look forward and change the importance of strength of schedule you are going to have the big boys playing the small ones....and the likes of Appelacian St. and Stanford are not going to be pulling the upsets again.

    If strength of schedule were more important, the SEC games against quality opponents might begin the even us out through the nation. That and EVERYONE needs to play a championship game - EVERYONE.

    Lets hope we bring the :crystal: home where it has belonged all year.
  4. a little good karma for us, for allowing the hokies to put off the return trip. :wave:
  5. Did any hear that ole Lou Holtz last night when he said "the SEC schedules cupcakes for their non-conference games?" He was trying to boost USC & Oregon saying the PAC 10 scheduled another conference game when they went to 12 games. He said the sec went to the bakery.

    Whoever the other announcer was replied, "yeah like USC paying Notre Dame!" I about fell out of my chair laughing. Holtz shutup then. Right back at you senile fool!
  6. 1. Every conference is guilty of massive cupcake scheduling. If it wasn't for Fla. Int'l, I don't know who the ACC would play. That's why the Tiger victory over the Hokies does so much good for LSU.

    2. A couple of weeks ago, Holtz was waxing eloquent about what a big deal an Irish victory over Duke was, on live national tv. Mark May called him on it, and Holtz's response was to say that Duke had all scholarship players and a full time coaching staff so the Irish win was a big deal. That's called being massively, and spectacularly full of owl manure.
  7. :rofl::rofl:
