first thing i've ever taken offense to from you. i listen to it more discriminatingly now that i can understand rhythms a TON more advanced than these. it's mostly a lot of single stroke rolls, sextuplets with accents. not dissing it, just saying it's not that technical. plus the rhythms are really elementary. actually very elementary. i used to transcribe DCI drum cadences and beats in high school. i can also tell you a LOT of high schools in the state play the same cadence. LSU's line is fine when it comes to university bands, but DCI is a different animal. that's what separates the "geeks" from everyone else.
nah, you people are misunderstanding me. as a drummer/percussionist of 14 years i can tell you that their main cadence isn't that technical -- and i can assure that it really is not meant to be technical anyway.
All that aside, you can't tell me you don't get reved up when you hear The Golden Band from Tigerland play it.
in my VERY first post i said that i did, indeed, like it for simple fact that it was LSU's. some people just like feeling the need to be *******s that's all.
