I do not have to even read about the situation to answer this. FOOTBALL GAME If it is a friend getting married during football season then it's not a very good friend! Seriously though, I have a friend getting married this fall. I can not believe he would do this to the rest of us. I have been steadfast in saying I will be watching the LSU game that day. Some, not all, of my other friends feel the same and will be along with me.
I hate people that get married during football season when your team is playing. It is selfish of them. You think they would be courteous enough to check out the team schedule and plan around it. :cuss:
Two words if you are going to get married during football season. OPEN DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on, the schedule is made out a year in advance and usually don't change as long as LSU doesn't play V. Tech
Unless you are not a football fan then I would not get married in the fall at all. Anniversaries on game days would be asking for trouble heh...
Smart move and dedicated sports fan. Summer is perfect, no real interesting sports going on. Even baseball doesn't really heat up till august anyways. Plenty of options for your anniversary/vacation during summer too.
see I knew you guys would understand what I was goin through and would appreciate the fact that I mad the right decision :geaux:
I was married in November on an Open Date. Summer weddings are nice because of no football, but I didn't want to get married when it was hot. Besides, being the dedicated Tiger fan I am (though I am female), going to a Tiger game would be the best anniversary gift possible. In fact, since we went to the Arkansas game last year, a week after our anniversary, I told my husband to use that as my gift.
Married 9/22/1990, in Pacific Grove, CA. Watched the Vandy game on the tube that AM. We lose on a BS interference TD. Took Amtrak (sleeper car, natch) for honeymoon/reception in BR. 9/29/1990 Attended LSU - A&M game (w/ my new bride) seated on the 50 yard line (present from my lil' bro) We win 17-9 in a great upset. Planning. Executing. DOING THE RIGHT THING. :thumb: My bride knows that she always comes first... ...EXCEPT - certain Saturdays in the fall...
Weddings are better on a Friday night anyway. You did the right thing, one of my best buds scheduled his wedding, of course she actually did it, and it was on the same day as LSU/Ole Miss in Oxford, a late afternoon game. When he started asking his best freinds to stand in the wedding he got the shock of his life. The first 5 of us said no. Then his dad said he would be late for the reception, much less the church. they changed it to a Friday the next day. :thumb:
