Lousiville got shafted. They lose to a very good Rutgers team on the road, a game that went down to the wire and they drop 9 spots.
Of course we're all just assuming that LSU wins out. Arkansas looked very tough yesterday against Tennessee. I didn't realize they were that good.
The worst news possible for USC was Cal losing. They wanted to play the highest ranked Cal team possible. Not to mention Cal will be fired up after that disappointing loss.
I think LSU stands a better chance passing up WVU if they win versus Rutgers. Rutgers winning on the road and still undefeated would be impossible to pass up. A 1 loss WVU, sure, unless WVU just blows them out. So basically we need to hope for a close game with WVU winning.
I would say yes. Both would have 2 losses, but LSU would be remembered more for having just beaten Arkansas the week before. Its all about when things happen. If the LSU win had been early in the season, then it wouldnt matter as much. Because it will be only 9 days old in the voters memory, it will matter. LSU should be ahead of Arkansas, but just by a smidge.
Here is a god-awful scenario to ponder: LSU ranked 3rd in the nation at season's end (only behind Ohio State and SEC champ Florida)...or even 4th behind a 1 loss Michigan, and not even get a BCS Bowl birth. Florida goes to NC game, Arkansas picked by Sugar as runner up in SEC. The rule is you can't have a 3rd team from a conference in a BCS bowl game if a team from your conference is in the title game. Could happen. We need to hope for Arkansas beating Florida. Then LSU would be the highest ranked SEC team (LSU would have beaten Arkansas in this scenario). The Sugar would pick Arkansas as SEC Champ, but I would have to think LSU would get an at-large over a lower ranked Florida. And its possible all 3 teams may get picked in BCS bowl berths.
That is just a silly statement to make. If the spread is 14, Las Vegas would go broke with all the losses they would incur with Rutgers covering that spread. LSU would have a tough time winning that game (as would most any team in the nation), much less winning by 15. Rutgers is legit. Give them their due.
There's no way the Sugar would pick a 3 loss Ark team that just lost its last 2 games. We might not get picked, but it wouldn't be because of the Hogs--assuming we beat them and they then lose to Fla.
