.Just my opinion, dude. I think you're statement that Rutgers is "legit" is silly. Rutgers may have a decent defense, but I like LSU's chances to move the ball and put "purnts on the board" with JR, the three wides, Williams, Hester, Broussard, and company. And, Rutgers has a decent runner, but I think the Tigers would stuff him pretty well. So, it would fall on their QB and I don't think he could get it done with Pittman, Dorsey, Landry, etc. hounding him.

The line may open at lower than 14, but I believe it would still be bet up to that because I think that the people who put the money down believe that Rutgers is not "legit" and believe that LSU is one of the best teams in the country - look what the line against Bama did. It got bet up to 18!

You want to talk about silly statements? Arkansas would also need to beat Miss St. (probable), LSU (questionable), and Florida (a toss up).

I agree Rutgers would have a lot of trouble moving the ball.

But so would LSU. The Rutgers defense is as good as advertised. Louisville has arguably the best offense in all of college football, and they were held to 266 yards, with most of that coming in the first half.

Didn't mean to belittle your opinion, but there is absolutely no way the line is 14. LSU would be a 3 point favorite at best. More likely close to a pick em game (assuming its at Rutgers, as you intimated).

Where did I say that WOULD happen. It's a hypothetical. I don't think they can do it. I think with them being in the running for the NC will be their undoing against a great LSU team and they will falter against us. Mustain will not play well in that game and it will cost them.

The BCS rules guarantees an automatic berth to a team who is ranked 3rd, and possibly 4th, depending on how many automatic qualifiers. You have the 6 conference champs. The loser of OSU/UM may stay in top 4. Boise State will qualify if they win out. ND, if they beat USC. That's 9. That still leaves one spot open.

We could very well be an automatic qualifier with a little luck. This opens the door to more than just the Sugar.

I gotta completely disagree based on seeing just that Thursday. I thought Rutgers looked ok for a mid level college team. But their team speed was no where near SEC caliber. Maybe Louisville's offense is good but they reminded me a lot of misfiring Texas Tech in that game.

Well, we'll never know, but it's fun to predict and debate! I believe history is generally a good predictor of future events. To wit:

    Rutgers Lines this season:

    vs LOUISVILLE +6
    vs CONNECTICUT -19.5
    at PITTSBURGH +6
    at NAVY +3
    at S FLORIDA -4
    vs HOWARD NL
    vs OHIO U -17
    vs ILLINOIS -11
    at N CAROLINA +3.5

    LSU lines this season:

    at TENNESSEE -4
    vs FRESNO ST -31
    vs KENTUCKY -25.5
    at FLORIDA PK
    vs MISSISSIPPI ST -33
    vs TULANE -36.5
    at AUBURN +3.5
    vs ARIZONA -17
    vs LA LAFAYETTE -30
    Vs. ALABAMA -18

If you win out... and then Florida beats Arkansas, I'd say you're in. If Arkansas beats Florida, it will depend how far they drop the Gators.... as only two teams from a conference can go to the BCS.
My guess is if you win out, you're in!!

    Please accept my early congratulations!!

I think Rutgers has covered the spread in every game but 1. At least I remember the announcer saying that during the Louisville game.

    That's a good measuring stick.
