He did enough on defense and returns. He had a cramping problem, probably wasn't properly hydrating. I think the Cardinals team doctor has eliminated it.

They said yesterday he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes

I never heard that story before. I had heard that Army was Dietzel's dream job. The president of LSU wouldn't have willingly gotten rid of a coach who had recently won the National Championship.

He didn't look like himself yesterday when he was covering cooper. I know cooper is very talented and I am not trying to take away from that, but PP7 just didn't look like PP7. They (announcers on SNF) said he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes this offseason, had dropped like 15 pounds, but was on the road to recovery and getting back in football shape. TBH I couldn't tell if they were saying he lost 15 pounds due to the diabetes, or that he lost 15 pounds getting back into shape. Regardless, he looked a little off.

Is type 2 the kind where he has to take insulin injections?

I think so. From the article:

"The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes is that people with Type 1 don't produce insulin, whereas those with Type 2 produce insulin but their bodies don't use it properly, according to the American Diabetes Association. Type 1 used to be called juvenile diabetes, and it still is usually diagnosed in children and young adults. Type 2 is the more common form of the disease, according to the ADA's website."

Just saw where in type 2 the pancreas produces and overabundance of insulin until it can't produce any more and then it stops
