Yes, just $1400.00 and my wife and I were in. Worth every frickin penny. Worth whatever the hell I had to pay for it. I didn't win the lottery but I was going to be at that game no matter what. Drove in from Orlando the day before, drove back the day after. I had waited my whole life for that game.
I was lucky enough to be there thanks to my father in law. He got me a ticket to the game for Christmas.
Yes, I was in the Dome. Section 709 Row 20 Seat 6. I sat in the seat for maybe 5 minutes while I was in the Dome, but never during the game. Me and my friend were on Bourbon St. with our bodies painted. For those of you who were there, you probably have a picture of us. I don't know about ya'll, but during the National Anthem before the game, I was literally speechless. I could not sing the first part of the song because I was in total shock of the moment. I will never forget January 4th and 5th, 2004.
We had 2 TAF tickets, and three people with birth rights to them. I spent the night before in the quarter with 3K in cash, looking for a third ticket. I ended up at the House of Blues, watching the North Mississippi Allstars, alone (x-cept for the other several hundred yahoos packed in there). It was awesome. We spent the rest of the next morning looking for a decent scalped ticket. When we finally bought one, we later determined it was a fake. We resold the fake to another unsuspecting scalper, and later, finally picked up our third ticket. It was pretty close to game time, and I think we got it for about $600. I volunteered to go on the single, and sit by myself. The other 2 I was with, ended up getting invited in a suite, and called me to join them, but by that time, I wasn't answering calls. I sat next to some dude from Rayne is all I remember. After the game, I remember dancing on the stage at some bar under the underpass, behind LSU med school. It took me three hours to drive back to Lafayette the next day. What a weekend!:crystal: :thumb:
