Trump is wrong a lot more than he is right. I expect he said what he says he said, and the people on the speaker heard what they heard. Having said that, if Trump had a lick of sense, he would have called back and said, sorry this was not received as sent, let me clarify for you. Sorry for confusion. Less than 1 minute, and how much time and political capital would have been saved? In Trump's world, he has to always win. I have worked for guys like that. They always have to win, since they are the boss. Good leaders have the confidence to let others win, when they can, and when they can't their word is law. Letting people win, as much as you can, sets the tone and climate for a great organization. I could tell Navy stories all night on this subject.
