Russell can throw the ball. He's big and strong. Be has the tools and the talent. But he sometimes makes foolish decisions regarding clock management and when to throw the ball away. Those problems are fixable. He's young and is clearly making progress.

    I'll take him.

I actually thought he was off a bit with his accuracy yesterday, especially after the 1st quarter. I think Florida put enough pressure to hurry some throws and forced him to make some bad decisions.

Man, we were lucky as hell that he stepped out of bounds right before throwing his 3rd INT. He has to learn to throw those in the cheap seats.

I agree about learning how to throw it away. Last night during the FSU-UVa game, Mario Hagans was flushed out and threw the ball about 50 feet into the air, about 40 yards downfield, and it almost landed in the stands. My wife looks over at me and says, "Now that is how you throw the ball away. Can we give him JaMarcus' contact information?"

I just wish we could open up the damn offense so we can really see what he can do.

Whether he comes out after next year, or waits til he is a senior, He will be the first quarteback taken in that draft. The few problems he has are minor, and are coachable. NFL scouts have wet dreams about guys like Jamarcus.

I had to laugh when I read Red's post here.
Some of these things remind me of Jake Plummer. :)

I think the coaches know what he can do that is why we don't open up the offense. As others have stated, Jamarcus is looking more comfortable and making throws he could not make a few games back. Last night he was more accurate with his throws and put more touch on the ball. The added touch resulted in less dropped/tipped balls. He made a bad throw on the last interception and obviously he made some poor decisions on when and where to throw the ball away. However, IMO, take away the fumbles by our running backs, which killed some drives and took pressure off the Florida defense, the game would have been over early.

I agree. I'd like to see us put away a quality team early, these nail biters are exhausting!

some one said he has never seen a Qb at LSU with something or other or he might be the greatest. Might is a VERY strong word. he has some major game management and ball handling ability to learn before he becomes the "greatest". Could happen though, I'm definately for it.
