The spring game...imagine the media circus that would happen if we were to lose that game, even worse than losing to Bama.:shock:
Bama...for obvious reasons. Then Auburn. Not too worried about either, though. I'm more worried about VT. I'm not saying we'll lose to them, but I think they have a great defense and special teams...and our special teams isn't so special...and since it's so early in the year...and we have a lot of new pieces in the offense...I'm concerned about how our team matches up with VT that early in the season.
1. Bama - it would give Nick a little more momentum than I'd like. The media would make a huge deal out of it. 2. Auburn - SECW, got to win these games to get to the SECCG. 4th or 5th - Virginia Tech. I sure hope we don't lose this game, but if we lose it doesn't affect our record in the SEC, which means we have a better chance of going to the SECCG. It's not a NC or bust. I care about winning the SEC first & foremost.
That's surprising to me. I'd take a NC without the SEC championship in a heartbeat. You are well-versed on recruiting, wouldn't you agree that NC's will garner more blue-chippers than an SEC Championship? Though I'd like both. :thumb:
It's very, very unlikely that we could win the NC without winning the SEC. OU got a shot at it, but that won't happen to us. OU only got in because they were hyped as one of the best teams of all time that just happened to have a let down game.
I could probably stomach a loss to just about anyone, even Auburn. But holy ch!t if we lose to either LaTech or MidTenn, I may become suicidal.
I would hate to lose to VT. I know, I know, it sucks to lose conference games as well. But, solidarity not withstanding, Frank Beamer is one of those coaches I despise. Plus, when we played VT at their house, they promised this as their (and our) first game of the season. They added a cream puff a week prior despite the promise. Then, they went back on playing us at home the next year. That's the way I remember it. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Still the point remains for me. We probably will not blow them out...but I would love it. Also, I pump the SEC a lot. I don't want to see another conference have any bragging rights. Lastly, LSU loses this one and we can probably kiss the NC good bye...Our only chance is the early in the season situation.
